Helen Adams founder of Textile Curator

Textile Curator showcases the outstanding quality, variety and talent of international contemporary textile artists. It was founded by Helen Adams whose passion for textiles began at secondary school due to a very inspiring teacher.  After a degree in Constructed Textiles specialising in tapestry weaving, the solitude of being a professional artist led to Helen using her artistic background in magazines. Helen spent almost a decade as a contributing editor for interiors magazines including House Beautiful and Ideal Home. She then relocated to Sydney working as a writer and stylist for interiors magazines Home Beautiful, Inside Out and Better Homes and Gardens. She is currently living in  Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with her family.

Living in Europe, Australia and now Asia has highlighted the relatively low presence of textile art. Although the profile of textile art is rising slightly due to the desire for handmade items in an increasingly digital age, there is still a long way to go to raise awareness of the beautiful work available. Hopefully Textile Curator can help change that.

Helen is available for writing articles or artist press releases, curating exhibitions, being a jour for competitions, and offering advice and editing artists websites.
